Today I felt a bit rushed on time, since I went to bed so late last night, and woke up and began moving around 1 or 1:30 today, maybe later. To be fair, I am being quite hypocritical, since it is actually 5:05AM right now. Luckily, I am not working tomorrow, but still- a bit rough. Now then, today I finally got out of bed, took a shower, and left my apartment by 2:15PM, catching the uptown A to head back over to my friend’s apartment to take care of her pup again. I was listening to a Pentatonix radio created by Spotify off of their latest Christmas album. That’s right, I definitely am already listening to Christmas music- don’t get me wrong, I love Thanksgiving; the food is delicious and I love spending time with my family. But it’s still time for Christmas music. November 1st Christmas begins. It is how it has always been, and how it always will be. Anyway, I come inside and the pup is a bit quieter than he was yesterday. He of course begins yapping again once I walk in, and I pick him up and playing with him for the few minutes that I could. Unlike yesterday I had to be at work today, so I needed to leave myself time to get back to the subway station and to work.
I ended up playing with him for a solid 15-20 minutes, as he ran around, biting me a bit more than yesterday, which I am trying my darndest to stop him from continuing to think fingers are things to bite. I finally had to say my goodbyes, and gave the cute pup a little chew toy filled with peanut butter that had been sitting in the fridge- my friend told me to give it to him before I left. Honestly, it seemed to do the trick, and when I gave it to him, he immediately stopped barking, and was calm as I left the apartment, locked up, and headed to work. Now the commute to work was no different than normal. I got onto the train and fell asleep for most of the way, switching to the F at Jay Street and finally getting off and heading to Emma’s Torch. I was happy to say that I still made it a good 15 minutes early, which is fine by me, and I immediately clocked in and got to work. Today we had two on the books, so we just set the tables as usual and got ready for the day. I really wish I had a better story to talk about for today, but I really don’t! I mean time went by quickly enough, but we only had a few walk in’s. I think we ended the night with 8 or 10 people coming in to eat with us, which is fine- it just means we don’t make as much money.
Because it was so slow, we even closed early and got out of the restaurant by just past 10, which was perfect because it meant I was able to catch the Express A train back uptown, instead of needing to run local. I made it back by 11PM, and sat down to relax for the rest of the night. I spent the past few hours playing some League, and then chatting with my friend again, hoping to help her out with whatever’s going on right now. She still hasn’t told me much, but I do hope she’ll open up to me soon. I just want to make sure she’s okay. I also have actually been talking to the girl from OkCupid, who ended up giving me her number. Right now we’re just texting and talking, which is nice. I’m enjoying it- it’s nice to just have conversations with new people; you know, learn about them and their lives. She even mentioned how she was surprised how wholesome the conversation was, (since to be honest I don’t really flirt with people. Seriously I just talk to them, which ends up with me making a good amount of friends, but not many romantic partners) We’ll see what happens moving forward though. I can’t believe it’s almost Thanksgiving already though. I have next week off, and I leave for Nantucket on Wednesday I believe to visit my family and celebrate the holiday. Should be a lot of fun! Tomorrow I really have nothing planned besides taking care of the pup for a bit, so I guess we’ll see what happens. It’s 5:22 now, so I am going to brush my teeth and pass out. Here’s to another day- may each day be better than the last.
Until next time,
**Also! There was a song that came on on the Pentatonix radio on Spotify that everyone should listen to. It’s called Found/ Tonight sung by Ben Platt and Lin-Manuel Miranda and it is absolutely gorgeous. Do yourselves a favor and look it up. Okay, goodnight everyone.
